We have prepared a concise overview of how to handle a traffic accident and when to complete an accident report.
Stop the vehicle, turn on the hazard lights, put on a reflective vest and mark the scene with a warning triangle. If anyone is injured, provide first aid and call 155 or 112.
Always call the police if someone is injured, third-party property or the road is damaged, traffic is obstructed, the participants disagree, or the estimated damage exceeds CZK 200,000.
Take photographs from several angles, capture the vehicle damage in detail, and record the details of all participants and any witnesses.
If the police do not need to be called, complete a joint traffic accident report. Then contact Auto od strejdy as soon as possible and follow the next instructions.
On a motorway or busy road, wait behind the safety barrier whenever possible. If there is no barrier, move as far away from the road as possible and wait for the emergency services. Place the warning triangle far enough from the car so approaching drivers can see it in time.

If the accident does not have to be reported to the police, the participants must complete a joint traffic accident report, list any witnesses, and document the scene with photographs.
Report an accident abroad to the local police or relevant authority. If your vehicle has been damaged in another country, report the incident as soon as possible and keep all documentation for the claims process.
Download the accident report and keep it close at hand.
